Good luck to anyone still in the running and congratulations to Dan Williams in week 3. It's been a rough tournament where entries have been stalled by injuries and bad weather almost as much as team eliminations. We've seen key players like Zach Charbonnet, George Kittle and Bo Nix suffer season-ending type injuries with their team still advancing, not to mention Nico Collins knocked out and losing a game with a concussion. We had wind chills near zero in Chicago, we had wet snow and rain in New England and we had a blizzard roll in for the second half in Denver.
Dan Williams is the victor in Week 3. Dan enters SB60 with three active players, including QB Drake Maye, who has thrown for 533 yards and 4 TDs. Maye has also showed himself to be an effective runner with 131 yards rushing and a score. WILLIAMS also has the top scoring New England defense, which has caused 8 turnovers, one of them a pick-six. The Pats’ D has also registered 12 sacks and made four 4th-down stops. WILLIAMS had a solid rushing attack with the running-back tandem of Kyren Williams (253 scrimmage yards and 4 TDs) and Rhamondre Stevenson (280 scrimmage yards).
DAM WILLIAMS nailed two key components of a great pool entry at wide receiver. WILLIAMS got the star player that shined, Puka Nacua, who was taken on 30.6% of the pool entries. Nacua (24 catches for 332 yards and 3 TDs) is currently the pool’s top scoring player. The question will be did Puka do enough before his team’s elimination to secure one of his entries a Pool Championship? The other component WILLIAMS nailed was the more difficult one, which was getting a big performance from a $4 bargain WR. WILLIAMS’ selection of Marvin Mims Jr. paid off as Mims caught 12 balls for 155 yards and a TD.
