FINAL PLAYOFF POOL STANDINGS

CHAMPION-JOEY DIABLO

Joey Diablo wins Fantasy Playoff Pool 24 in convincing fashion. The star of the show was Cooper Kupp, who added two more touchdowns. Kupp caught the game-winning TD of Super Bowl LVI. Kupp is Pool MVP and is the Super Bowl MVP. Kupp finished with 33 catches for 478 and 6 touchdowns and was on each of the top 25 entries. Diablo's other two wide receivers, Hardman and Pringle, combined for 5 TDs. QB Matthew Stafford finishes with 1,188 yard passing, 9 passing TDs and 2 rushing TDs. Stafford had 3 interceptions. Diablo's RB Joe Mixon had 369 scrimmage yards and a score and threw a TD pass in the Super Bowl. The Cincy defense had 8 interceptions and 10 sacs in the playoffs. Rookie kicker Evan McPherson, who was 14 for 14 on FGs, kicked a FG at the end of the first quarter to put Joey Diablo into first place. Then, McPherson chilled out and took in the halftime performance.

ALPHABETICAL ROSTER LISTING WITH FINAL WEEKLY POINT TOTALS

SECOND PLACE-MIKE MCCARTHY..........

It’s only the Stafford/Kupp combo that McCarthy has in common with Joey Diablo. McCarthy had WR-Gabriel Davis, who had one of the best fantasy days you’ll ever see. In the divisional round, Davis had 201 yards receiving and 4 TDs! Davis finished the playoffs with 242 yards receiving and 5 TDs and is the 2nd highest scoring WR in the pool. RB Jerrick McKinnon turned his 48 touches into 315 scrimmage yards and a score. McKinnon was the 2nd-highest scoring RB. McCarthy got only one game out of his other RB, Leonard Fournette, who missed the wild card round with a hamstring injury. But, Fournette had over 100 scrimmage yards and 2 TDs in that game. TE Dawson Knox came through with 2 TDs in the wild card game. Kicker Tyler Bass only scored 7 fantasy points, which were 48 less points than the champs got from MCPherson. Fittingly, it was McPherson’s FG late in the 1st quarter of SB56 that pushed McCarthy out of the top position. The L.A. Rams’ defense came through with a TD, 4 INTs and 12 sacs for McCarthy. The 7 sacs by L.A. in SB56 led by Aaron Donald and Von Miller helped keep McCarthy in second place.

3rd PLACE-CHATFANTASYFOOTBALL...........

The gang from Chatfantasyfootball podcast finished in third place. Shectman’s group stacked Stafford and Kupp like the top two finishers and also had the Bengals defense, but all 6 other position players were different from the top two finishers. Chatfantasyfootball worked to squeeze WR Tyreek Hill and TE Travis Kelce on the same roster. The move paid off as both found the end zone in each of their three games. Tyreek finished with 23 catches for 285 yards and 3 scores. Kelce finished with 23 catches for 299 yards and 3 scores. Incredibly, Travis Kelce outscored all other tight ends by 30+ fantasy points for the third consecutive year! Kicker Harrison Butker kicked 4 FG’s and 12 XP. RB Cam Akers made a return from a July achilles tear. Akers got 75 touches in the post-season despite losing two fumbles in the divisional round. Akers ran for 172 yards and had 76 yards receiving. Chatfantasyfootball did not secure third place until Akers' 3rd reception with 3:41 left in SB56.

4th PLACE-MILLS...................

Mills is the only entry without Stafford to finish in the top 5. Mills had the top scoring QB in the pool, Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes threw for 1,057 yards, 11 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Mahomes also rushed for 117 yards. Mills’ running backs were a disappointment, especially Darrel Williams. Darrel was the most selected player in the pool and scored (-1) fantasy points in the playoffs with a lost fumble. Mills had only one spot different from first place Diablo when it came to the WRs, TE, kicker and defense. That was Odell Beckham Jr., who had 21 catches for 288 yards and 2 scores in the playoffs before going down with an ACL tear in the 2nd quarter of the Super Bowl. Mills began SB56 in fourth place. Mills bounced around between 2nd and 4th place despite not having a QB playing in the big game. Kicker Evan McPherson was a big reason for that.

5TH PLACE-SCHAFLER..........

While no teams cracked the top four during the Super Bowl, fifth place was a different story. Workboots was knocked out of the top 5 early in the second quarter by SFink. SFink was surging thanks to a hot start from Odell Beckham Jr. OBJ had the first touchdown of the Super Bowl and his 25-yard catch early in the 2Q pushed SFink into the top five. But, late in the 2Q OBJ went down with an ACL tear. SFink held on to fifth until 9:58 left in the 4Q when Schafler passed him up with a 12-yard run from Joe Mixon. Schafler has Kupp, Stafford, Mixon, Hardman and the Bengals defense in common with the first place winner (Diablo). Schafler got a strong performance from his kicker, Matt Gay, with 8 field goals and 11 extra points. Everyone on Schafler’s roster contributed at least 9 fantasy points RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn had 62 scrimmage yards and a score, WR Cole Beasley had 7 catches for 79 yards and TE Dalton Schultz had 7 catches for 89 yards.

WEEK THREE STANDINGS FOR FANTASY PLAYOFF POOL

BENGALS WIN AFC CHAMPIONSHIP BY 3

RAMS WIN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP BY 3

McCARTHY WINS PLAYOFF POOL BY 3

Mike McCarthy remains atop the playoff pool standings and wins week three by a slim margin. It's Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp that keep McCarthy rolling. Stafford has thrown for 905 yards in the playoffs. Stafford has thrown 6 TD passes and run for two scores. It has been complete domination by WR Cooper Kupp who caught 11 balls for 142 yards and 2 scores in the NFC Championship. Kupp has 386 yards receiving and 4 scores in the playoffs and is on each of the top 24 rosters as he heads into Super Bowl 56. RB Jerrick McKinnon was a workhorse in the post-season for McCarthy has he turned his 48 touches into 315 scrimmage yards and a score.

RB Leonard Fournette, WR Gabriel Davis and TE Dawson Knox had already been knocked out, but had combined for nine touchdowns in the first two weeks for McCarthy.

WEEK TWO STANDINGS FOR FANTASY PLAYOFF POOL

Mike McCarthy takes over the playoff pool lead and thus is the week two winner.

McCarthy’s top two wide receivers combined for 384 yards receiving and 5 scores on Sunday. McCarthy’s squad was the second highest scoring team this weekend. WR-Gabriel Davis had one of the best fantasy days you’ll ever see Sunday with 201 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns. Davis was selected on 37 entries and now sits on 5 of the top 6 teams. Davis finishes the playoffs with 242 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns. Cooper Kupp has more receiving yards (244) than Davis and has 2 scores.

Despite the fireworks from QBs Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes thus far, it’s Matthew Stafford that leads the week 2 winner to victory. Stafford has 568 yards passing and 4 TD passes without a pick. Stafford also has 2 scores on the ground.

McCarthy’s running backs, Leonard Fournette and Jerrick McKinnon, have combined for 327 scrimmage yards and 3 scores. They have combined for 20 receptions out of the backfield. Fournette scored twice Sunday after missing the wild card round with an injury.

Lastly, Mike McCarthy got two touchdowns from his tight end, Dawson Knox, in the wild card round and his L.A. Rams defense has been solid with 5 sacks and 3 interceptions, one of which was returned for a pick six.

SCORES AND STANDINGS FROM DIVISION ROUND GAMES ONLY

Tom Gates is the winner of the division round with his Big G’s line up.

Big G’s line up included the historic game from WR Gabriel Davis, who had 8 catches for 201 yards and 4 touchdowns. Davis, who was selected 37x, is on the top 8 entries of the weekend. Big G’s line up also had Josh Allen, who threw for 329 yards and 4 TDs. Allen added 69 yards on the ground and a 2-point conversion pass. Buffalo’s other WR, Cole Beasley, was added to the Buffalo stack and had 6 catches for 60 yards.

Big G’s running backs were solid. Both Leonard Fournette and Joe Mixon had 50+ rushing yards and 50+ receiving yards and both found the end zone. Fournette found it twice. After being inactive with a hamstring injury wild card weekend, Fournette was this weekend’s top scoring RB.

Big G got production from L.A.’s tight end (Higbee 4 catches for 51 yards) and kicker (Gay 3 field goals/3 XP).

ALPHABETICAL ROSTERS WITH WEEK ONE POINT TOTAL.

Is the pool coming down to Mahomes vs. Allen? Both QBs threw 5 touchdown passes in week one and face off in week two. The most selected QB in the pool, Aaron Rodgers (127 entries) has yet to take the field and has a lot of ground to make up.

Darrel Williams was the most selected player in the entire pool (186 selections) and got one touch and lost a fumble. Meanwhile, Jerrick McKinnon (17 selections) had 18 touches and tied for the position lead in points this week. News that Leonard Fournette (98 selections) wasn't going to be activated came moments before the playoffs kicked off. The Bucs backfield was led by Ke'Shawn Vaughn (19 touches/28 pool selections) and Gio Bernard (18 touches/12 pool selections).

The Green Pay Packers led the pool in skill position selections (18.4%) followed by the Chiefs (17.4%) and Tampa Bay (14.1%).

772 entries and prize pot =14,555

WEEK ONE STANDINGS

SUZY, SUZY GREENBERG!!

Former Pool champion, Rotorious, had the lead going into Monday, but Suzy Greenberg was a 'Kupp" away from the winning recipe. SUZY needed 6 points from WR Cooper Kupp to surpass Rotorious for the week one victory and after a slow start Kupp succeeded.

SUZY GREENBERG had Josh Allen, who threw for 306 yards and 5 touchdowns while running for an additional 66 yards. Allen was the highest scoring player for week one. SUZY also got a pair of scores each from RB Devin Singletary (94 scrimmage yards) and TE Dawson Knox (89 receiving yards), who were both tied for highest scorer at their respective positions. Add in 110 scrimmage yards and a score for WR Deebo Samuel and 61 receiving yards and a score from WR Cooper Kupp. Kicker Daniel Carlson nailed four field goals and the Bengals' defense created 2 turnovers and had 3 sacks.
