HURTS SO GOOD

BraedenM wins Fantasy Playoff Pool XXV. BraedenM was propelled in SB57 by the legs of QB Jalen Hurts, who ran for three touchdowns.
BraedenM began SB57 in 51st place, but was the top 'Hurts' entry and also had Travis Kelce. They were projected for a strong finish and were in the top ten by the end of the first quarter. With 2:24 left in the first half, Hurts scored his second rushing TD of the game. Hurts had 48 yards rushing on that drive and BraedenM was in 2nd place. BraedenM grabbed the pool lead on a 45y completion by Hurts with 5:45 remaining in the game. On the next play, Jalen scored his third rushing TD of the game, added a 2-point conversion and BraedenM’s playoff-pool lead was a comfortable 9 points. Jalen Hurts finishes the post season with 579 yards passing with 3 TD passes and 143 yards rushing with 5 rushing TDs. Hurts is the top-scoring QB. The other star for BraedenM is tight end Travis Kelce. Kelce caught 27 balls for 257 yards and 4 TDs in the playoffs and is named Pool MVP. The other major contributors for BraedenM were Deebo Samuel (13 catches for 211 yards and a score), Harrison Butker, 6 FGs (2 from 50+y) and 10 PATs, and the Cincinnati defense 6 sacks, 2 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries, one of which was returned 98 yards for a score. Bargain RB Boston Scott found the end zone twice in the playoffs while BraedenM’s other RB, James Cook, scored once.

FINAL STANDINGS

BUTKER'S KICK LIFTS 22ANDOUT!!

22ANDOUT!!, the week 3 winning entry, holds on for second place. 22ANDOUT!! actually jumped from 4th to 2nd place on Butker's FG in the final seconds. 22ANDOUT!! had remained in the top spot until there was 5:45 left in SB57. He was knocked out by BraedenM on a Jalen Hurts 45-yard pass. On the next play, Jalen Hurts ran for a TD and followed with a 2-point conversion run and 22ANDOUT!! was passed by Primetime(14) and fell to third. A catch by Kelce with 4:11 remaining had knocked them down to fourth place. But, with 11 seconds remaining, Butker put 22ANDOUT!! back into second place.

The team leader was Christian McCaffrey, who carried 40x for 238 yards and caught 12 balls for 61 yards while scoring a TD in each of his three games. Pool ‘Rookie of the year’ Brock Purdy, threw for 569 yards and 3 TD passes before being incapacitated with a torn UCL. Purdy also ran for a score. 22ANDOUT!! had Deebo Samuel, Harrison Butker and the Bengals’ defense in common with the Pool winner (BraedenM).

ROOKIE PACHECO FINISHES STRONG

McCarthy had one of six rosters, like the Champions, that paired QB Hurts and TE Kelce. McCarthy rookie RB Isiah Pacheco finished the playoffs with 262 scrimmage yards and a Super Bowl TD run that put Mike McCarthy into 12th place. Jake Elliott, who had four FGs and 12 PATs in the playoffs, kicked a FG with 1:48 remaining in the 3Q that had Mike McCarthy inside the Pool's top 10. A TD catch by Skyy Moore put McCarthy into the top five, but he was later knocked out of the ‘money’. Hurts’ 4th Quarter TD run had McCarthy up to fourth place and Pacheco’s running had McCarthy into 2nd place inside four minutes remaining in the SB. McCarthy remained in 2nd place until Butker’s last-seconds FG knocked him back to third place. Also on Mike McCarthy’s squad was the Eagles’ defense, which had an interception, three opponents’ fumble recoveries and 8 sacks in the post season. Mike McCarthy got a TD catch in the playoffs from each of his three WRs (K.J. Osborn, Cole Beasley, Skyy Moore) which all were salaried $5 or under.

100 yards receiving fROM DEVONTA SMITH in the big game helps PRIMETIME

Primetime was projected to finish 13th, but Hurts’ Super Bowl performance lifted them into a fourth-place finish. The foundation was laid by TE Dalton Schultz, 12 catches for 122 yards and 3 scores and kicker Robbie Gould, 8 FGs and 4 PATs. Primetime got TDs from RB James Cook and WR Cole Beasley while the 49ers’ defense had 5 sacks and forced 4 turnovers. In SB LVII, PRIMETIME rode the back of QB Hurts, RB Kenneth Gainwell and WR DeVonta Smith. PRIMETIME was in the Pool’s top five by halftime. After Kelce helped knock PRIMETIME from the top 5 in the 3Q, a great 45-yard completion from Hurts to DeVonta Smith got PRIMETIME back into the top five for good. The play was challenged, but the catch was upheld. On the next play, Hurts had PRIMETIME in 2nd place after his third TD run of the game and a 2-point conversion run. Later, PRIMETIME fell to 3rd place when Pacheco carried McCarthy past them in the final four minutes and finally fell to 4th place on Butkers’ game-ending FG. WR DeVonta Smith was the only player to eclipse 100 scrimmage yards in SB57. Smith finished the playoffs with 15 catches for 197 yards and a score. RB Gainwell finished the playoffs with 236 scrimmage yards a score. Gainwell almost added a SB TD, but his 1st quarter run, initially ruled a TD, was overturned.

A.J. BROWN COMES THROUGH ON SUPER SUNDAY

Pool newcomer Fleischman was well represented on SB Sunday. For SB Sunday, Fleischman had Pool MVP TE Travis Kelce, RB Pacheco, RB Gainwell, K Butker, the Eagles defense and A.J. Brown active. Brown had been a huge disappointment, but came through with 6 catches for 96 yards and a TD in SB57. AJ Brown’s TD, a 45-yard reception in the 2Q, had Fleischman in the top 10 by halftime. Pacheco found pay dirt in the 3Q and Fleischman had cracked the top five after three quarters. Hurts’ 3rd TD run of the game knocked Fleischman from the top five in the final quarter, but Fleischman squeezed back in. Fleischman went ahead of Diablo(8) on a Travis Kelce reception with 4:11 remaining in the game and held on to stay in the ‘money’. Fleischman was the one top-five finisher that saved money at QB with Daniel Jones ($5). Jones finished with 436 yards passing with 2 TD passes and 102 rushing yards.

SECOND GENERATION

Christian McCaffrey’s dad (Ed) was in the first Playoff Pool and he was coached by Kyle Shanahan’s dad that season. Christian McCaffrey entered FPP25 as the pool’s highest valued RB and for Burkhardt’s 22 and out!!, he paid dividends. McCaffrey has had steady production in a crazy playoff year. He carried 40x for 238 yards and caught 12 balls for 61 yards while scoring a TD in each of his three games. Travis Etienne completes Burkhardt’s workhorse backfield with 30 carries for 171 yards and a TD.

The 22 and out!! squad did the majority of its damage in week one when rookie QB Brock Purdy threw 3 TD passes and ran for another, WR Deebo Samuel caught 6 balls for 133 yards and a score and the Bengals defense had a 98y fumble return for a score. Those three combined for 71.3 fantasy points in Wild Card weekend and only 22.2 in the last two weeks despite all being active. TE Hayden Hurst had his best day in the division round and finishes with 13 catches for 147 yards and a touchdown. Only Harrison Butker (5 field goals (two from 50+) and 5 PATs) remains active for 22 and out!! going forward.

HUNTER JUMPS INTO FIRST PLACE

STANDINGs-- CLICK HERE

HUNTER jumps into the Playoff Pool lead over last week’s winner Primetime. Dak Prescott is the top scoring player through two weeks with 511 passing yards, 5 TD passes, 2 interceptions, 46 rushing yards and a score. The RBs for HUNTER were solid. Saquon Barkley finishes with 191 scrimmage yards and 2 TDs, while Travis Etienne ran 30x for 171 yards and a score. The top receivers for HUNTER are CeeDee Lamb, 14 catches for 185 yards and a TD, and Christian Kirk, 15 catches for 130 yards and 2 scores. Tight end Hayden Hurst has caught 9 balls for 110 yards and a score. The 49ers defense has forced four turnovers, had four sacks and blocked a kick. This should be the end of the line for HUNTER, who only has TE Hurst and the 49ers defense going forward.

KELCE CATCHES 14 AND HELPS MATT WILSON CLINCH THE DIVISION ROUND----
STANDINGS--CLICK HERE

Matt Wilson is the winner of the division round. Points were hard to come by in week 2 as no team topped 100 fantasy points. Travis Kelce didn’t have much trouble though as Kelce caught 14 balls for 98 yards and 2 TDs. QB Patrick Mahomes left the game with a high-ankle sprain, but got back in the game in the second half. Mahomes finished with 195 pass yards and 2 TD passes. Matt Wilson’s RBs were low-cost but solid. Kenneth Gainwell ran for 112 yards and a score. Travis Etienne ran for 62 yards and a score. Matt Wilson only got 13 points from his WR corps, which included a TD from MVS and 51 yards receiving from Richie James. Lastly, Matt Wilson got 2 FGs and 2 PATs from kicker Riley Patterson.

WEEK ONE STANDINGS

BIG GAME FOR DAK,
PRIMETIME LEADS THE PACK

Primetime cruised to victory in week one by a 17-point margin as six players and the defense found the end zone. QB Dak Prescott was the big story. Prescott threw for 305 yards and 4 touchdowns. Each of Primetime’s WRs caught TDs Deebo Samuel (6-133), Gabe Davis (6-113) and Zay Jones (8-74). Primetime got 105 scrimmage yards and a score from RB J.K. Dobbins.
